Should you still be interested in keeping your name for consideration in any future opportunities to join the program, please fill out this interest form.

The following reflects the views of L2BEAT’s governance team, composed of @kaereste and @Sinkas, and it’s based on the combined research, fact-checking, and ideation of the two.

When/where can we expect to learn more about the criteria used for the ongoing eligibility of delegates receiving incentives? Both the original proposal and the following application post covered the criteria needed for a delegate to be eligible to be in the program, but there hasn’t been any mention of what the things being rewarded are. The only part of the original proposal that touches on that is the following

We think it’s important to clarify on what constitutes active participation and contribution to the Polygon ecosystem so delegates can know what to expect in terms of effort required. In our view, any sort of delegate compensation program goes hand-in-hand with delegate responsibilities.

Thank you so much for the opportunity - grateful to be here !

Hi @Sinkas,

Thank you for your thoughtful read-through of the program. We certainly agree it’s important for the DIP members to have the clarity you mentioned.

As of today, we’ve shared a comprehensive onboarding package with all accepted delegates, which outlines next steps, logistical processes, rewards breakdown, and other key details (eg. KYC/contract requirements).

For the sake of transparency, I’m sharing the communicated details regarding rewards below to ensure everyone in the community has visibility on the objectives and intended outcomes of the DIP:

DIP Program Rewards

Delegate rewards are based on three main activity categories, with additional special quarterly awards beyond those. Each activity type contributes to a $60,000 total quarterly reward pool, split across all eligible DIP members. As such, individual delegate rewards for each period will be variable, depending on the both the completion of and relative performance across the following incentive categories:

1. Awareness Creation (55% of rewards)

The top 5-10 delegates in a given period will be rewarded for fostering visibility and engagement around Polygon through social media, published research, or content creation. This includes:

  • Posting updates, insights, or announcements on X related to Polygon
  • Sharing and resharing relevant Polygon content and posts (preferably with delegate perspectives and insight)
  • Engaging in community conversations (likes, comments)

2. Governance Activity (25% of rewards)

Active participation in Polygon’s governance through consistent and meaningful voting.

  • Meeting the minimum 70% voting threshold ensures eligibility for this reward bucket.

3. Voting Power (20% of rewards)

Rewarding delegates based on the voting power they represent in the Polygon ecosystem.

  • Scaled rewards are distributed to the top 10 delegates based on delegated POL voting power.

Special Quarterly Awards

Special quarterly awards will be based on a combination of quantitative metrics and qualitative assessments by program managers, ensuring fairness and alignment with program objectives. Outstanding contributions will be recognized with additional rewards in these categories:

  • Amplifier - Awareness Champion: For the highest awareness creation score in the quarter.
  • Beacon - Forum Leader: For the most significant forum contributions in the quarter.
  • Trailblazer - Community Contributor: For exceptional community contributions in the quarter.

A pleasure to be on board. Thanks for sending me the DIP onboarding pack with this info.

The programme looks very sensible. A bit heavily weighted towards awareness perhaps, but I think that makes sense in the early stages of the programme. It will be interesting how well this stimulates activity and participation.
