Invitation to create Frontend & Monitoring services for Matic Network

We are inviting developers and projects to help create frontend services for Matic Network. The following topics are initial suggestions:

  1. Explorers for Heimdall and Bor
  2. Dashboard
  3. Faucets
  4. Network Analysis tools

We are also open to suggestions for more innovative ideas

Are there bounties for this? :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @ffmad Yes there are bounties for this. However, we would suggest that you could send us a proposal about your project and then the team will decide on the bounty for it.

Matic Faucet proposal: https://www.dcipher.io/faucet/matic.html :grinning:

Hey @alexDcrypto Thanks for sharing your proposal.

What is the procedure for joining the team?

Hei,

Would you take in consideration my proposal? any rewards from here?

Thank you!

Hi @delroy

Correct me if I am wrong, but I haven’t seen any DevOps tools for validators. I propose Ansible playbooks for “Heimdall + Bor + CLI Staking” deployment on Ubuntu. If you need additional options to be covered - it can be discussed.

Cheer!

Hey @novy

We are already working creating Ansible Playbooks for the entire setup. We are currently internally testing it. Thanks for the thought!

We will get back to you incase if this is required for future testnets.

Hi @delroy, i just built heimdall explorer (CS2008 and will update if any new testnet) but it have there are deficiencies in transaction history, because i doesn’t get transaction for token transfer.

Btw, sorry for connection timed out, data cache because i using low specs server :frowning:. http://40.114.40.241

Hi @delroy. I’m working on a full blown mobile app to track and monitor staking accounts and nodes. I already support a number of blockchains and would love to add Matic both for stakers/delegators and for validator operators. It is not ready for public release but here is a screenshot of how it looks now. I’m working on improving the UI and also adding more info per validator so it will be much more detailed in terms of what it shows to the user. Obviously it also notifies the user via push notifications when the rewards are not as expected or when it detects downtime, etc. Would love to provide more info if indeed you like it…

Also, i just built telegram bot (https://t.me/counterstake_bot), it will like heimdall explorer but in telegram and will alert user validator.

Matic Mission Control

Chainflow, along with our development partner Vitwit, would like to propose Matic Mission Control.

Matic Mission Control is a validator monitoring and alerting toolset. It’s built on Cosmos Mission Control. We built Cosmos Mission Control for the Cosmos network. It’s adaptable to any Cosmos-SDK based network.

The Need

The Matic network requires validators to secure the network. These validators need to meet strict and demanding availability and security requirements.

Monitoring and alerting tools are needed to ensure these validators are operating as expected. Using these tools helps validator operators provide the availability and security required and demanded by the network and its users.

Establishing these tools as helpful and necessary infrastructure components establishes good practices among validators. Doing so in a network’s early days makes it more likely these tools get implemented, before the additional demands and distractions of a live production network consume an increasing amount of validator time and attention.

The Problem

Open source monitoring and alerting tools offer a partial solution. Yet these tools need customization to monitor and alert on key validator functions. Developing these tools often takes a back seat to “fire-fighting” activities.

These activities often hijack a validator operator’s daily operations. As such, these tools become seen as a “luxury” to “get to later”, and as such don’t get developed or implemented. Furthermore, smaller validator operators, key to stake decentralization, may not have the resources required to develop such tools.

The Solution

This project will use Cosmos Mission Control, built on open source tools, as its foundation. We will customize the tools, building the necessary plugins, etc., to provide a more comprehensive, MATIC-validator-specific monitoring and alerting toolset. We will provide the source code and documentation necessary for validators to implement the solution for themselves.

This will -

  • Save validators considerable time, attention and effort, making it
  • Much more likely they will establish this important piece of a highly available and secure validator operation. As a result,
  • The MATIC network will benefit from a set of more reliable and secure validators, who are able to prevent and address infrastructure issues, before they become major issues.

This should free operator time and attention to put toward other value-added ecosystem activities, e.g. thoughtfully participating in network governance.

Hey @iams

Thanks for posting. We will evaluate your submission and get back to you.

Thanks!

Hi,

We’re Bi23 Labs and we wanna propose for a Matic data statistics provider. it aims to provide the real-time , comprehensive, multidemensional data statistics of Heimdall and Bor for matic validators and token holders.

Here is the Prototype drawing, click HERE to view:

It will Include but not limited to these following parts:

1、Dashboard:

Displays the mainly data of matic network and matic token economics, it’ll looks like this pic below:

2、Validators and validators’ details:

Displays the validators ranking and basic information, when clicked, it will jump to the details page, where you can view the vote composition and other details of the validator.

3、Accounts and rewards details:

Display the accounts infor and when you clicks, it will jump to the details page where you can see the transcations and vote rewards details.

That’s all for the brief introduction.

Actually we already built an explorer for Celo project with the same Product Positioning and it turns out to be welcomed and widely used by Celo community, you can check https://thecelo.com/ if you’re interested. the matic explorer we propose this time will be just like this.

Looking forward to your reply, thanks!
