Aalborg Upgrade PIP-21 was successfully rolled out on Mumbai Testnet on 9th September.
and is targeted to be rolled out on Mainnet on 9th October (Heimdall Block #15,950,759).
This upgrade activates the “Milestones” feature as described in [PIP-11] that introduces faster deterministic finality in Polygon PoS.
Please note that this upgrade is not backwards compatible (Hard Fork). A forum post with information about Bor and Heimdall releases and instructions to upgrade will be created in the next few days as final testing of the releases is ongoing. You could also participate in testing by deploying the latest versions on some of your nodes (follow instructions in this doc) and provide initial feedback that will be very valuable to the community.
