Instead of having validators elect the block producer on heimdall, why not have them run an auction for the validator slot on Heimdall and burn the POL used in the auction.
While thing doesn’t give you an perfect MEV burn, it does return some of the expected value of MEV to the POL token holders and front runs the formation of an off chain bribing market to vote for specific validators who will capture the MEV.
